Why Your Body May Still Feel Tired After a Holiday
Returning from a holiday still feeling tired can be frustrating. After all, wasn't the purpose of taking time off to come home feeling refreshed?
Many people assume that simply taking a break from work is enough for the body to recover. Yet it is surprisingly common to return home feeling just as exhausted as before, or even more so.
One reason is that holidays often remain busy. Travelling, sightseeing, different time zones, unfamiliar environments and packed schedules can place new demands on the body. Even when these experiences are enjoyable, they still require physical and mental energy.

While this treatment is widely recognised for its deeply calming nature, it represents only one element within the broader Ayurvedic approach to rest and recovery. Understanding when and why Shirodhara is traditionally used helps illustrate that meaningful recovery involves far more than simply taking time away from work.
True recovery is not measured by the number of days spent on holiday. It is measured by whether body and mind have had the opportunity to slow down, restore their natural rhythm and regain energy.
Sometimes, what we need is not another holiday. Sometimes, we simply need a different way of recovering.
